Michigan's Open Meetings Act

The Michigan Open Meetings Act (OMA) entitles citizens access to the Public meetings of any state or local legislative or governing body in Michigan. Citizens have the right to know what takes place at the meetings of these public bodies and what decisions government officials make during them. That said, administering the Michigan Open Meetings Act as well as the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, is neither easy nor without limits.
